The word "guy" is defined as a "man or a boy; a human being of the male gender." In the Christian world, it is the gender from where the human race had descended. In creation, God took dust from the ground and made the first man, and by taking a rib from this man, He made the first woman. This has led to a patriarchal society, where men are looked upon as the head of the family, the decision-maker, and the breadwinner. On the other hand, feminism, which teaches equality of both sexes, is another matter. Even so, quite a few women gladly wait to be swept off their feet by a man. It is a human need to love and be loved back. Regardless of gender, everyone looks for ways to find their perfect match. Finding the right girl for a guy is as hard as finding the right guy for a girl. And everyone resorts to means they know or learned. For guys, this means may be courtship. And for girls? Traditionally, they have had to wait, but that does not mean that a woman can't go out and find Mr. Right. And when a woman finds him, she needs to learn how to keep him. There are a lot of ways. One is by making him feel how much he is being loved. Another is by knowing him and understanding his nature. There are some distinctive characteristics of guys. Guys evaluate themselves in terms of their careers and performance. They feel fulfilled when they have a stable rewarding job so that they can carry out their role as the provider. They focus on results, and thereby don't pay much attention to the details and the means as long as they obtain their goals. They are also fixers. They are fond of immediately offering solutions to problems instead of analyzing the depth of situations and the emotions of the people involved. These qualities make guys different from women, who are naturally emotional. And these basic differences in gender affect how they think and relate to one another. From these differences arise conflicts and disagreements. The need for understanding the situation, communicating well, and respecting each other?s opinions may resolve these common relationship problems. |
