A feeling of security generally implies that alls well with that persons life and that he perceives no immediate threat to it. However, this feeling could be shattered when there are threats of external dangers by persons who take it upon themselves to breach lawful barriers.

The term security has different meanings in different situations and places. In telecommunications, it implies a level of protection against intruders through setting up certain procedures by the establishment. Security measures are undertaken to meet certain expectations, and controlled access systems help in accomplishing this aim. Security measures and compromise work in tandem. In many cases, however, a threat to security is more perceived than actual.

Security covers a lot of areas that could be categorized as physical security, informational, financial, and computer security. All have certain common factors: there must be more than one security measure and the guarantee must assure successful execution of the system when called upon to do so.

Security has achieved certain standards over the years. In the work sphere, security breaches could take place from within as well as from outside. It is the inside job which involves trusted employees that usually causes the greatest damage.

Organizations must have awareness programs to educate staff. Make them aware of how security can be breached through unintended physical access, misuse of information, etc. They should be trained in recognizing a breach if they see one. Security has to be inculcated as a habit in employees for it to work effectively.
